Jan 12, 2010: Added a preference to the Edit Profile page to select your downloading preference (regarding showing a "Open/Save" dialog). Also, the regular expansionstories.com domain is working again.
Jan 10, 2010: At the moment, the normal domain (expansionstories.com) is not working. My domain registrar thought it would be a nice gesture to expire my domain a year earlier than it was set to. Please be patient as I get this sorted out, hopefully we'll be back up through the normal address very soon. In the meantime, please access the archive through http://expansionstories.selfip.com, and if you encounter any problems please message me through the link located in the navigation menu and at the bottom of most pages in the archive.
Aug 1, 2009: Fixed a problem with the monthly download counters' monthly reset function that stopped the archive from working temporarily... UPDATE: Also discovered that the "top rated stories" chart was excluding stories with exactly 4 votes... Fixed.
Jul 18, 2009: Added a couple of new features to the archive. The first thing you'll probably notice is the "Most Downloaded Stories This Month" chart on the main page. A little elaboration on this feature: I put this feature in a few days ago as a sort of "background" statistic, not actually displayed anywhere. I wanted to see how useful this statistic would be, and personally think it will be a nice little feature. But this means that, at least for this month, it won't be a true depiction since it was implemented mid-month. The way it's gonna work, it will reset on the first day of every month, and the main page's chart will not go on display until the 10th of each month (to allow some time for downloading; obviously a chart of all zeros won't do much). Also, each story's page will show its monthly downloads (regardless of the date). Anyway, the second feature that probably won't be as noticeable is email notification. For each story you upload, you have the opportunity to receive notification sent to your registered email address when your story receives a new comment. This setting is available on the Edit Story pages for existing stories. I believe that's all for new features. Jul 15, 2009: Made some changes to the story codes: 4 new ones, and I made some of the code descriptions more descriptive. I'd like to encourage uploaders to update their submissions accordingly - it makes finding stories much more seamless. :) That is all.
Jul 14, 2009: The login page will now take you back to where you were on the site when you clicked "Login" (after you authenticate). The RSS feed now shows the 20 newest stories, rather than 10. Also a few bug fixes throughout the archive.
Mar 4, 2009: Added some improvements to the search engine that I've been working on for a while now... The search results are sortable by several columns now.
Feb 22, 2009: Small change to the way stories are downloaded: all stories will bring up a "File Download" prompt from now on (in the past, text-based files would simply show in the browser window). Also, HTML files uploaded to the archive will be checked for disallowed tags.
